CSL Behring recently announced that its 21st annual Gettin’ in the Game Junior National Championship will take place October 6-8 in Henderson, Nevada. This year they are bringing back swimming, and are also adding another category: basketball. Now participants will have the opportunity to choose from four sports: baseball, golf, basketball and swimming.

It has been 21 years since CSL Behring has created the JNC, the first and currently the only, national sports competition for children with bleeding disorders. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of their respective sport, participate in friendly competition, and have a chance to connect with fellow members of the bleeding disorders community from across the country. Additionally, educational seminars focusing on the importance of physical fitness and other related topics will be available on site.

Chapters have not received information on how many athletes they will be able to send, but HACA is opening the application process for anyone interested in attending. Applications are due by Friday, July 7, and notifications will be sent by July 31. After the chapter submits the names of participants, travel details will be coordinated by a CSL Behring contractor. Flights, hotel rooms and food will all be covered.
