Online auction, Two Twisted Posts fundraiser top May events |
HACA members enjoyed a beautiful spring day at Two Twisted Posts Winery in Purcellville, VA, for its annual fundraising afternoon at the winery on Sunday, May 18. It was a great day to picnic and drink wine on the lovely grounds of the winery, which have been expanded the last few years. The day also featured a set by iliandi, the duo of chapter members Spencer Duggan and Iliana Fernandez.
It was also the last day for our online auction on Givebutter, and we raised more than $1,100 this year!
The winery will be donating 10 percent of the day's profits to HACA. We are grateful to Lynda Dattilio and Casey Luther for setting up the event, and owner Theresa Robertson for hosting us and for making a donation to HACA. Two Twisted Posts is a special place! For more information on the winery, click here. Thanks to everyone who joined us for what is quickly becoming an annual spring tradition!
A special thanks as well to everyone who bid on an auction item, as well as the businesses that donated items this year: 5 Wits, 6 Flags America, Bluemont Winery, B&O Railroad Museum, Chesapeake Bay Socks, DC Beat the Bomb, DC United, Fredericksburg Nationals, George Mason University, George Washington's Mount Vernon, Great American Restaurants, Luray Caverns, Monster Minigolf, Paradise Vineyards, RiverSea Chocolate and University Theaters. |

Women's group event hits the bullseye at Bad Axe Throwing |
HACA recently hosted another memorable HACA women’s event at Bad Axe Throwing on Saturday, May 31, in Alexandria, VA, and what an incredible time it was! Gathering together such a dynamic group of women reminded us once again of the strength, resilience and spirit that define our community.
It was truly heartwarming to see so many familiar faces, and we want to extend a special shout to those new to our community that attended. The event was filled with laughter, connection and empowerment for both the seasoned axe throwers and newbies. We are beyond grateful to have such amazing, strong women in the HACA community, and we look forward to many more opportunities to come together, share experiences and support one another.
Thank you to CSL Behring for supporting our women's programming. |
